Hi! I’m Lindsay, a self-taught home cook with a passion for cooking and bringing people together over good eats. My love of food started in my teenage years when I began collecting recipes (this collage features some from my collection), and my enthusiasm for entertaining was sparked by making meals in the tiny galley kitchen of my college apartment; needless to say, it continues to this day. I’ve also read dozens and dozens (and dozens and dozens) of cookbooks, thanks to my career in book publishing as a marketing specialist; talk about doing what you love! I’ve absorbed a lot over time and am always inspired to try new things, whether it’s a recipe or a cooking skill or an entertaining idea.

My first post gives a taste of what I’m offering, but my goal with The Big Meal is to help you feel more confident in the kitchen and to find joy in cooking for others. Each week, I’ll share recipes, cooking tips, time-saving hacks, and entertaining ideas, all designed to make the process less stressful and a lot more enjoyable. Whether you’re making dinner for a crowd or just throwing together a meal for your family, I hope to inspire you to cook up a storm for the people you love and to have a ball doing it.
